Executive Secretary - Mr. Bader Al-Dafa


On 30 July 2007, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon appointed Mr. Bader Al-Dafa of Qatar as Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).

Mr. Al-Dafa has recently served as Ambassador of Qatar to the United States and Permanent Observer to the Organization of American States (OAS. In this capacity, he played a special role in promoting access to education and the arts in the Arab-American community and among other minority populations in the United States. >> more.

 

Deputy Executive Secretary - Mr. Atif A. Kubursi


Atif Kubursi teaches economics and in the Arts and Science elite programme at McMaster University. He joined McMaster in 1969 as assistant professor. Since 1981, Dr. Kubursi has held the rank of full professor. >> more.

 

Secretary of the Commission - Mr. Khaled M.G. AbdelHamid


In September 2004, Mr. Khaled M.G. AbdelHamid (Egypt) was appointed as head of the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia and as Secretary of the Commission. >> more.
