Beijing Follow-up Project. |
| Objectives: |
1. Building the capacity of network members towards the implementation of the Beijing platform of action;
2. Fighting gender based violence in the Egyptian society;
3. Fostering gender equity by promoting positive attitudes towards women’s advancement in the Egyptian society. |
| Brief: |
The Alliance of Arab Women is working with the established structure of 350 NGOs to implement the Beijing platform of action with a focus on: the human rights of the girl child, the rights of female head of households, and gender equity in access to community services. |

Women’s Participation at Decision Making Levels. |
| Objectives: |
Supporting women’s leadership and empowering them to reach decision making levels. |
| Brief: |
The main focus is on:
1. Encouraging women to obtain and use their voting cards;
2. Raising women’s awareness about the importance of exercising their political rights;
3. Assisting women candidates to reach political decision making;
4. Training women members of the local councils for effective participation;
5. Identifying and supporting women candidates to run for elections.
