“ISHRAQ”, safe spaces for girls to learn, play and grow. |
| Objectives: |
1. Testing the possibility of using recreational activities, including sports, as an entry point to introduce other activities, e.g. reproductive health;
2. Enhancing the physical, mental, and social well being of adolescent girls;
3. Creating a good level of interaction between girls to discover their needs and respond to them;
4. Creating an environment where girls are comfortable to enquire about things and express themselves;
Conveying to the community the message that those girls have a great potential, which could be done through recreational activities. |
| Brief: |
The project focuses on:
1. Exploring ways of working with adolescents in schools in Minya, starting with three intermediate schools;
2. Planning to organize activities with adolescents in the issues of health and the environment. These activities will also be the output of what these girls learn and present to the community;
3. Designing a sports program for adolescent girls based on their athletic inclination;
4. Workshops for government and local leadership is underway in order to define needs and create. participation mechanisms. |
