Activity Title: National Policy & Programme Development:
Health

Objectives/Goals: 1. Contribute to the improvement of adolescents health and well-being;
2. Build the capacity of health professionals and youth groups on HIV/AIDS.
 
Support: Financially supported the workshop on HIV/AIDS. Also, provided financial support to the preparation and dissemination of 100,000 booklet on HIV/AIDS to secondary students all over the country. 
Fields/Tools: Field of Implementation: Health  
Brief: The Project implemented based on the Braga Youth Action Plan and the World Program of Action for Youth to the Year 2000 and Beyond is the "Peer Education of Youth leaders and counselors on HIV/AIDS and STDs". Although this activity was implemented based on the country’s needs and not on the UN-related documents – the present activity both share the agenda and common goals / objectives of the Braga Youth Action Plan, & the World Programme of Action for Youth to the Year 2000 and Beyond.
 
Activity Title 2: National Policy & Programme Development: Health

Objectives/Goals: 1. Contribute to the improvement of Adolescents health and well-being;
2. Assist the government in disseminating results and findings of the KAP Adolescent study with regard to health related issues and planning relevant interventions.
 
Support: Technical and financial support. 
Fields/Tools: Field of Implementation: Health  
Brief: The Project implemented based on the Braga Youth Action Plan and the World Program of Action for Youth to the Year 2000 and Beyond is the "Adolescent KAP Study". Although this activity was implemented based on the country’s needs and not on the UN-related documents – the present activity both share the agenda and common goals / objectives of the Braga Youth Action Plan, & the World Programme of Action for Youth to the Year 2000 and Beyond.  
Activity Title 3: National Policy and Programme Development: Quality Education  
Date: 2002-2003 
Objectives/Goals: Ensuring improved learning environment (at school and home) and high learning levels of achievements for the students of Grade Seven.  
Support: Financial and technical support.  
Fields/Tools: Field of Implementation: Education.  
Brief: The Project implemented based on the Braga Youth Action Plan and the World Program of Action for Youth to the Year 2000 and Beyond is "An analytical study of the phenomenon of high levels of repetition among students of the 7th grade ". Although this activity was implemented based on the country’s needs and not on the UN-related documents – the present activity both share the agenda and common goals / objectives of the Braga Youth Action Plan, & the World Programme of Action for Youth to the Year 2000 and Beyond.
 
Activity Title 4: National Planning & Programme Development: Child Protection 
Date: 2002-2003 
Partners: Ministry of Social Development  
Brief: The main objective of the Programme is to obtain a better understanding of child abuse cases in order to plan for effective child protection.  
Activity Title 5: Partnership and Communication for Children: Promotion of Child rights and gender issues  
Date: 2003  
Brief: The main objectives of the Project are:
1. To further promote the principles embodied in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC);
2. To enhance a better understanding of the needs and means of promoting the CRC.
