ESCWA organized a regional workshop on industrial statistics jointly with the Statistics Department of the League of Arab States, The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) in New York. It was held at the UN House in Beirut 15-16 November.

The workshop aimed at boosting participants’ knowledge in the area of collecting, processing and disseminating industrial statistics. Participants had the opportunity to share experiences and gain new skills and knowledge regarding the latest developments in international classifications used to collect and process relevant industrial statistics and indicators. The agenda also covered a review of international recommendations pertaining to industrial statistics and other, international standard industrial classification of all economic activities, in addition to the central product classification.
