Final Results of the
Digital Arabic Content Competition in Jordan |
|
The DAC Competition in Jordan was launched by UN-ESCWA
in cooperation with the Jordan Innovation Centre (JIC)
at Philadelphia University between 7 July and 12 August
2008. Four applications were received as participants in
the competition.
Following a two-phased evaluation process undertaken by
UN-ESCWA and JIC representatives, the Arab
Entrepreneur Portal won the first place whereas
Itqan won the second.

Final Results of the
DAC Competition in Lebanon |
|
The DAC
Competition in Lebanon was launched by UN-ESCWA in
cooperation with Berytech Technology and Heath Incubator
between 26 June and 31 July 2008. Ten applications were
received as participants to the competition.
Following a two-phased evaluation process undertaken by
UN-ESCWA, Berytech as well as experts from the business
and ICT domains, Alf Mile was selected as
winner of the competition.

Final Results of the
DAC Competition in Palestine |
|
The DAC Competition in Palestine was launched by UN-ESCWA
in cooperation with the Palestine Information and
Communication Technology Incubator (PICTI) between 25
June and 31 July 2008. Sixteen applications were
received as participants to the competition.
Following a two-phased evaluation process undertaken by
UN-ESCWA, PICTI as well as experts from the business
domain, the Arabic OCR System was selected
as winner of the competition.

Final Results of the
DAC Competition in Syria |

The DAC Competition in Syria was launched by UN-ESCWA in
cooperation with the ICT Incubator between 9 July and 15
August 2008. A total of nine proposals were received as
participants to the competition.
Following a two-phased evaluation process undertaken by
UN-ESCWA, the ICT Incubator as well as selected experts
from the field, two winners were selected. The first
place was awarded to the Automatic Text-to-Speech
Engine and the second to the Interactive
Academic Portal
academia.sy.

Final Results of the
DAC Competition in Yemen |
|
The DAC Competition in Yemen was launched by UN-ESCWA in
cooperation with the Aden ICT Incubator between 19 July
and 21 August 2008. A total of eighteen proposals were
received as participants to the competition.
Participants were evaluated through a two-phased
evaluation process undertaken by UN-ESCWA, Aden ICT
Incubator in addition to selected experts and
professionals from the ICT field. Three projects were
selected as winners. Winning the first place was the
Aden Tourism Portal, the Electronic
Mediator came in second, and the
E-Learning project got the third place.
