Berytech Technology & Health

Berytech Technology & Health is ESCWAs partner incubator for implementing the DAC project in Lebanon. Its mission is to provide incubation, support and hosting opportunities to the largest number of project holders as well as growing enterprises operating in the fields of Technology, Multimedia and Health. The incubation process at Berytech allows project holders and young start-ups to benefit from Business Counseling while being physically hosted on the premises. Moreover, incubatees are closely accompanied by a mentor for the duration of their incubation period, throughout which they benefit from management and budget follow up. In parallel, Berytech periodically audits the evolution of the project and the incubatee's performance.

Palestine Information and Communication Technology Incubator

The Palestine Information and Communications Technology Incubator (PICTI) is an independent Palestinian organization that was established to revitalize and sustain the growth of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector in Palestine. The strategic core components of PICTI include an Incubator facility that offers professional business services to Palestinian entrepreneurs who have mature concepts for unique and innovative ICT products assessed to have strong market potential. PICTI designs, develops, implements and promotes those initiatives that will support the development of entrepreneurial business ventures with high growth potential by providing them with an integrated package of world-class business development services that will nurture and support the commercialization of ideas and enhance the development and growth of dynamic enterprises.

Jordan Innovation Centre, Technological Business Incubator

The Jordan Innovation Centre (JIC) at Philadelphia University in Jordan aims at helping turn innovative ideas into wealth by supporting entrepreneurs to start sustainable enterprises, support spin-off ideas, develop value-added products, identify and exploit markets, and graduate as viable stand-alone businesses. It stands as a modern business incubator launched in Jordan to provide such support. JIC supports innovative projects from all sectors provided there is a commercial viability and will act as ESCWAs partner in Jordan.

ICT Incubator In Syria

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Incubator in Syria was established by the Syrian Computer Society with view to building the information society in Syria and nurture young, entrepreneurial ideas to develop and be fully realized. The ICT Incubator was established on the basis of a study developed by UN-ESCWA. It currently provides a variety of services and training to projects that are seen as viable and full of potential.

The ICT Incubator will act as ESCWAs partner in implementing the DAC project in Syria.

ICT Incubator in Yemen

Following the Expert Meeting on Promoting the Digital Arabic Content Industry that was held in the UN House on 29-30 April 2008, and in view of the experiences exchanged by participating directors of incubators in the region, the Aden ICT Incubator was established in Yemen. The incubator was inaugurated on 25 May 2008 at Crater Centre which has provided the premises as well as all necessary services to incubate future projects. Discussions are currently underway for the incubator to join the Middle East and North Africa Network of business incubators (MENAinc).

Although still at its inception phase, the incubator is partnering with ESCWA to implement the DAC project component in Yemen.
