The ICP results are basically analytic in nature, and as
such can be put to a multitude of research and policy
uses, such as:
-
Define differences in absolute and relative economic
sizes of the countries under comparison.
-
Set policies to effect changes on factor endowment,
productivity, size of markets, technology and
investment.
-
Develop a kit of tools of quantitative research (indices
on volumes and prices of produced goods and services) to
suggest policy recommendations on price management
(inflation, deflation, stagnation, etc…) and to be used
as national accounts deflators.
-
Provide indicators on living standards and, perhaps, on
real income distribution.
-
Determine poverty thresholds and ways and means to
monitor subsequent changes in poverty levels.
-
Serve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to reduce
poverty.
-
Conduct deep rooted researches on the effective
Governments role in economic management and to appraise
public expenditure on defence, education, health, etc..
-
Reveal differences in resource allocation and
implication for performances and efficiencies
assessments.
-
Reveal the trading positions of the trading partner
countries.
-
Determine investment requirements and potentials.
-
Use the measurements on real incomes (in absolute and
per capita terms) for various administrative and
organizational matters, as well as for international
policy and administration purposes.
-
Prepare the SNA economic integrated accounts in PPP
terms, then more profound integrated comparative studies
and models could be obtained.
