Aim
& Objectives
GSP aims to strengthen national
capacities in the production, use and dissemination of statistics
related to priority gender issues that would influence policies
and promote change for the benefit of women.
GSP objectives include:

Awareness building on the
relevance of gender statistics to policy formulation and
programming

Primary training in the making of
gender statistics

Identification of key gender
issues and assessment of data availability

Identification of required
statistics and indicators

Preparation of national gender
statistics publications

Creation of a regional publication
on the situation of women and men in the Arab countries

Development of an Arab gender
statistics database

Activities and outputs
A number of principle activities and
outputs were undertaken through the Development of National Gender
Statistics Programmes in the Arab Countries. GSP activities, such
