Fifth Workshop for the 2011 Round of The International Comparison Program in Western Asia Region

Objective of the Workshop:

• The Workshop focused on four main objectives:
  
  - The validation of the Q3 Household Consumption price data;
  - The validation of Machinery and Equipment data;
  - The discussion of the ICP Special Surveys;
  - Assessment, discussion and evaluation of the National Accounts activities.
   

Attendants:

The fifth ICP Workshop was hosted by ESCWA at the Kempinski Ishtar Hotel - Dead Sea, where a total of 36 participants attended.

The meeting hosted twenty nine representatives from all eleven participating countries including price experts, national accounts experts, and national coordinators. However, the nonattendance of the twelfth country’s (Saudi Arabia) representatives was noted due to administrative issues hindering their expected active participation.

The Workshop featured representatives from the World Bank, as well as one national accounts consultant and one machinery and equipments expert.
