Library
 

The UN-ESCWA library was established in 1974 under Economic and Social Council
Resolution 1818. It provides a specialized collection in the fields of economics and social development.

The library is open to the public on Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 14:30 p.m. 

The library's main function is to provide research, bibliographical and reference services
to library users in fields that relate to the work programmes of UN-ESCWA and the secretariat's other activities.

The library collection consists of monographs, reference volumes, periodicals and series, newspapers, CD-ROMs, on-line databases. UN documents and resolutions and documents of UN-ESCWA and other UN agencies can be accessed from the UN Official documents database at documents.un.org.

How to retrieve UN-ESCWA documents in full text:

- Select English library database from the drop down list below
- Click on "keyword" and type in for example: 'labor and escwa'
- Click on any title on the shown list and look for the symbol
- Copy the symbol and go to documents.un.org to search
- Click on "simple search" and fill in the symbol field
- Click on "search" and select a title
