Beirut, 4 June 2003 (United Nations Information Service)--The
Press Club of Lebanon is organizing a roundtable discussion with
the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social
Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Ms. Mervat Tallawy, on the
role of the Commission in Arab regional integration at 4:30 pm on
Wednesday, the 11th of June, 2003 at the Club's headquarters, Lazarieh
Bldg., Bloc A2-1, Emir Bashir Str., Beirut.
Invited to the meeting are ministers, parliament members, Arab and
foreign ambassadors accredited to Lebanon as well as civil society
representatives.
The Press Club of Lebanon, which was founded in 1993, is an
assembly of Lebanese media studies graduates. It serves as a forum
for its members to undertake discussions on current world issues
and share them with prominent local and international speakers.
Tallawy will also be the keynote speaker of the Haigazian
University 10th anniversary of the lifelong learning program,
which will be held under her auspices at 6:00 pm on Saturday, 7
June, 2003 at the University's premises, Mexico Str., Kantari,
Beirut.
