The International Data Base (IDB) is a computerized data bank containing statistical tables of demographic, and socio-economic data for 227 countries and areas of the world. This website provides a wide range of studies and data published by the Population Reference Bureau on the Middle East countries.

WHO Mortality Database (MDB)
The WHO Mortality Database (MDB) contains mortality statistics by country, age group, sex, year and cause-of-death. These data can be employed for research purposes and in public health management. The data available on this website are official national statistics in the sense that they have been transmitted to the World Health Organization by the competent authorities of the countries concerned. For countries where death registration coverage is not complete, caution should therefore be exercised when making analyses and interpreting results. Same caution should also be applied when making inter-country comparisons

Population and Vital Statistics Report
The Population and Vital Statistics Report presents 1998 and 1999 estimates of world and continental population, as well as corresponding 1998 estimates for 229 countries or areas of the world, which are listed separately in the Report. Also shown for each country or area are the results of the latest nationwide census of population (total, male and female) and, wherever possible, nationally representative statistics of live births, deaths and infant deaths (deaths under one year of age) for the most recent year available. If a nationwide population census has never been taken, but a sample survey has, the survey results are shown in the "Latest population census" column until census data become available.

Family Life Surveys
The RAND Family Life Surveys are a set of detailed household and community surveys of developing countries conducted by RAND, in collaboration with research institutions in the given countries. The currently available country surveys cover Malaysia (1976-77, 1988-89), Indonesia (1993), Guatemala (1995), and Bangladesh (1996).
