	ICPD+5 A 1999 review of progress since the Cairo Conference,ICPD+5, culminated in a special session of the United Nations General Assembly, from 30 June to 2 July 1999, which identified key actions needed for further implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action and new benchmarks for measuring progress towards ICPD goals.

	International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) The International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) was held in Cairo from 5 to 13 September 1994. The Conference was convened under the auspices of the United Nations. More than 180 states took part in negotiations to finalize a Programme of Action in the area of population and development for the next 20 years.

	UNAIDS The Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS, UNAIDS, is the leading advocate for worldwide action against HIV/AIDS, the global mission of UNAIDS is to lead, strengthen and support an expanded response to the epidemic.
