An Expression of
Interest (EOI) is an open invitation for suppliers to provide
ESCWA with information regarding a specified requirement for
goods or services. The EOI describes the requirement and
invites expressions of interest. It is, therefore, an initial
market survey document and differs from the formal
solicitation documents (RFP, ITB, RFQ) in that both registered
and unregistered suppliers are invited to express their
interest in meeting the requirement. Information obtained from
the EOI is used by ESCWA to establish a short-list of vendors
to be formally invited. A supplier, however, must be a
registered vendor prior to any award of contract.
