 Objectives of the RCM in the Arab Region
The
Regional Coordination Mechanism (RCM) aims to:
-
establish appropriate
mechanisms for the exchange of information at an inter-agency
level, facilitate coordination and promote joint action to
maximize combined impact of the work of UN agencies.
-
ensure coherence and synergy
with on-going inter-agency mechanisms at the regional level,
such as the Regional Director’s Team (RDT) for the Arab region,
and the cooperation between the UN system and the League of the
Arab States (LAS), including CAMRE, which represents an ESCWA,
UNEP/ROWA and LAS regional coordination mechanism on sustainable
development policies and operational activities.
